Pizza with Lime Ricotta, Blackberries & Jalapeños

Sweet and salty never tasted so good. All of the ingredients on this pizza work in harmony to deliver one amazing pie. Blackberries, prosciutto, sliced jalapeños and a drizzle of honey sit atop a pillowy layer of lime-flecked ricotta. It’s not traditional, and it certainly is tasty.

Ingredients
 

  • 10- ounce pizza dough
  • ½ cup ricotta
  • zest of one lime
  • ½ pint blackberries
  • 1 medium jalapeño
  • 2 slices of prosciutto
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • basil for garnish

Instructions
 

  • If you have a pizza stone, place it in the bottom of your oven and preheat to its hottest setting, usually around 500 F. If you do not have a stone, oil a baking sheet and set aside.
  • Stretch your dough on a well floured board from the center out, using your hands to coax it into a rough circle shape.
  • In a small bowl, mix the ricotta, lime zest, rosemary and salt. (If using the sheet pan, place the dough on it before topping). Spread the ricotta mixture on top of the pizza dough evenly, leaving a 1-inch border. Top with the blackberries, jalapeños and prosciutto. Place the pizza in the oven, sliding it onto the pizza stone.
  • The pizza should take 8-10 minutes to bake. When it is browned, remove and drizzle with the honey, crack fresh black pepper over top, and scatter the basil leaves. Serve immediately.
